I like ceramics, fabric, shells and driftwood off of the beach, rusted metal from parking lots. Old bottle caps flattened by vehicles and rusted over time are my favorite objects d'art. Rusted wire is a great find as are the inner workings of an old tossed bedspring. I like putting things together and seeing what happens. Lately, I've been making ceramic worry beads with tassels from various materials. I think they look good hanging on a wall, or sitting on a table and being handled. My mother always had Greek worry beads on her coffee table when I was growing up. I think that they were there to be admired but I loved playing with them and I still do.
